Dig It Up, Dust It Off, and Donate It: Get Archived 2013

Pull out the old shoe boxes. Look into the cracks of books, sketchbooks and notepads. Dig into your hard drives and collect the images and files that have been created, rearranged, updated and buried through out your career.  Gather them all together and join us this summer to build up the archives with Chicago’s art-makers and supporters.

Once again, Sixty has teamed up with WBEZ and the Chicago Artists Archives at the Harold Washington Library for a new series of Get Archived! events in Little Village, Rogers Park, Englewood and Bronzeville.  At these events we invite artists, writers, exhibition spaces, curators and others like you to bring us your photos, sketches, catalogs, artist books, postcards, zines and other artifacts from your art history so they can be cataloged alongside over 10,000 Chicago artists.  The Chicago Artists Archives have been maintained for over 70 years and you should be a part of it.  You will also get the chance to get your work in front of writers and curators from across the city.

Who should attend: Artists, curators, exhibition spaces, collectives, collaboratives, art writers, art publications (online and print), and arts organizations.
