‘Stuck Up…’ at Maxwell Colette Gallery

DB Burkeman creates an exciting exhibit that takes art enthusiasts into the underground world of street art stickers. “STUCK UP: A Selected History of Alternative & Pop Culture Told Through Stickers” opened at The Maxwell Colette Gallery on January 20 and runs through March 3, 2012. Stuck Up showcases work from well known street artists such as Space Invader and Banksy, contemporary artists, and lesser known street artists. To kick off the opening weekend The Maxwell Colette Gallery hosted a book signing with DB Burkeman and the phenomenal street art photographer Martha Cooper. Guests could meet these two talented individuals, and receive a signed copy of Burkeman’s book “Stickers: From Punk Rock to Contemporary Art.” This show is highly recommended for street art lovers and anyone interested in exploring the role that stickers have played in popular culture over the past four decades.
