Bringing together voices that can be found ringing within and beyond Chicago, this panel will explore the relationship between writers, artists, and their various audiences. How do writers best talk about work that doesn’t conform to mainstream arts narratives? How do they build audiences and what is their role in building community? We will hear from speakers who straddle the line between artist, writer, and activist, and find out how they have overcome challenges to build their own platforms and share their work.
