In celebration of Chicago’s rich landscape devoted to artists, art education, and the opportunity to inspire and become inspired, WBEZ invites you to the Chicago Cultural Center to join us in exploring these spaces and the role they play in shaping the artist in each of us.
WBEZ has teamed up with Sixty Inches From Center (SIFC) to create “What’s Your Art?” and couldn’t be more pleased with what’s in store. In addition to featuring art and workshops from 12 of Chicago’s art centers, Lindsay Obermeyer’s The Red Thread Project® will be featured. This community project and performance is made by the community for the community. Each hat in the performance was knitted by children and adults across Chicago. Celebrate Chicago’s creativity in a collective, connected performance, the Dance of Hats. Everyone is invited to participate. Throughout the day on behalf of Johalla Projects, participating artist James Jankowiak will be creating the “What’s Your Art?” contribution to the 2011 Doors to a Better World city-wide project, curated by Gallery Swarm.
