Sixty has been able to thrive and grow in part due to the generosity of the organizations we’ve partnered with over the years. Our primary partners are ones that we have a deep, ongoing relationship with, while others we have had the honor of collaborating with on one-time projects.
The Chicago Artists Archives at Harold Washington Library
In partnership with Chicago Public Library, Sixty Inches From Center is helping preserve the legacy of the art that our organization supports by contributing our content directly to the Chicago Artists’ Archive housed there. This partnership allows us to continue shaping the art history of Chicago and address the changing landscape of the art world. Starting in April of 2011, we began regularly contributing the content of our website to the archive, creating files for each artist. These files will be openly on view at the Harold Washington Library. We will also be working with the Harold Washington Library to investigate the best practices in new media archiving and documentation. Learn how to “Get Archived” here.
Zhou B Art Center
After spending three years as a nomadic organization, Sixty Inches From Center is now housed in the Key Concepts offices of the Zhou B Art Center (1029 W. 35th St.) in Bridgeport. During our time there we will be working to archive the artists in their studio spaces and host workshops, dialogues and other programs.
