William Camargo is an photographer and educator living in Chicago, a pass resident at ACRE projects in 2017 and current artist educator teaching youth about the power of photographer in communities of color.William is currently working on a book that will feature photographers of colors across the country that focus on social justice issues, that is called ‘The New American Photographer.’ William Camargo holds a B.F.A in Creative Photography from California State University, Fullerton.

He has given lectures on photography that focus on archiving family narratives from specifically Mexican immigrants and Chicano art history at Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, ACRE Projects and Gallery 400 and at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

His work has been featured in Time Magazine, Business Insider, The Wall Street Journal and more, his work has been in galleries at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, the Chicago Cultural Center in Chicago, the Loisaida Center in New York, the Christen De Haan Fine Arts Center at the University of Indianapolis, and the Mathis Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
