Images from “Reclaim Art” at the Bridgeport Art Center

Last Thursday, people gathered at the Bridgeport Art Center for an art auction benefiting Howard Brown Health Center, the Midwest’s largest LGBT healthcare organization. The show was hosted by the Artists of EastBank, an artist collective with the Bridgeport Art Center, who asked exhibiting artists to purchase items from the Brown Elephant and turn them into works of art.   If you’ve ever taken a stroll through the Brown Elephant, the resale shop run by the Howard Brown Health Center, you know that the possibilities for such an undertaking would be endless.  The following is a slideshow of the event and some of the “reclaimed” works. The exhibit lasts through May 30.

  1. The reception was a lot of fun, and there is still art for sale to benefit Howard Brown Health Center.

  2. Jennifer, thank you for a great job documenting the work for the Howard Brown Benefit. May I invite potential buyers? My large prints (blue water) have been reduced to $2000 and I am donating 20% to Howard Brown. The prints are one of a kind printed on Hahnemehle, 40 in h x 70 in. And as Leon said, the show is still up.
Again, thank you for your diligence.
